Nick Diemont

Nick Diemont, owner and share-holder of Strandveld Vineyards. His claim to fame, besides award winning wines, is he traded with the 'matchstick girl, and he barters wine for his dentistry work.
Strandveld Vineyard's main focus forwards is to establish alien-free wetlands, of which there are many to be found on the Strandveld Vineyards Estate. The Strandveld Vineyards has set aside 180ha for conservation purposes. Nick converted 42ha of the farm into vineyards. He is committed to the conservation of the Acid Sand Elim Fynbos and as a result any future expansion of the vineyards will take place on land previously used when the farm farmed wheat and sheep.

Today Strandveld Vineyards hosts a premium range called Strandveld, as well as being the home of First Sighting wines. The premium range consist of three reserve wines – Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and the Adamastor, a unique white blend. The Adamastor is a Greek-type mythological character as a symbol of the forces of nature, which the Portuguese navigators had to overcome during their discoveries, and became known as the Spirit of the Cape. These wines are carefully chosen and selected to express the unique terroir and to capture the very essence of the Strandveld.
